We have two stages of entertainment with renowned DJs and live music bringing a mix of R&B, Hip Hop, Jazz and all around feel good music. Our Soul Stage and Picnic Stage will feature the artists below.

Mad Skillz

Venerable Richmond, Virginia rapper Skillz is the hip hop head’s hip hip head! Keep up with the renowned artist, DJ Grammy Nominated Songwriter, Hip Hop professor and host here.

DJ Lonnie B

A leading authority in music, DJ Lonnie B’s innovative style made him a household name in his hometown of Richmond, VA and cities all over the east coast. Keep up with the distinguished member of the exclusive Heavy Hitters DJ crew here.

DJ Bro-Rabb

“Mr Lawd Have Mercy” returns to the Soul Picnic NC. Tour DJ for Kid N’ Play and show DJ, Bro-Rabb bangs out classic hits on mixes and showing out on the turntables. Keep up with one of NC’s renowned DJs here.

DJ Assassin

From live DJ sets on social media, to weekly and monthly events all over the Triangle NC area, DJ Assassin is no stranger to the turntable. Soul Picnic NC welcomes this veteran of spinning music to keep you moving! Keep up with DJ Assassin here.

DJ Travis Gales

Also known as My Favorite DJ NC, DJ Travis Gales is back to the Soul Picnic NC 2022 to become your favorite too. His Old School Mix features R&B classics, NuDisco, Funk, Soul hits from the 70’s and 80’s. Keep up with DJ Travis Gales here.

DJ Vybe Band

Starting as an R&B cover band, Vybe began layering their R&B sound over D.C.’s Go-Go pocket. Although heavily influenced by Chuck Brown, the The Godfather of Go-Go, Vybe covers all genres of music. Specializing in funk, R&B, Go-Go and jazz. Keep up with DC Vybe Band here.

NiiTO Band

Raleigh Based NiiTO, an R&B-funk-jazz-blues band, filled the void of live music during the pandemic. This band of brothers has developed a clear voice through their original music, leaving singing covers behind. Keep up with soulful NiiTO here.

Deron Juan

Deron Juan joins the Soul Picnic from Greensboro, NC. An ex-professional baseball player is North Carolina’s most sought after nightclub DJ. Keep up with 102 Jamz weekly mixtape host here.

Hosted by B Daht

Actor, comedian, entertainer, and radion show host B Daht has graced airwaves, television screens and stages all across the US. The former Wild ‘N Out cast member currently has his own morning show, and is known to bring extra energy to the Smith Center as an avid UNC Tarheels Fan. Keep up with B Daht here.

What vendors can you expect?

We can't have you come to a cookout and not have food! Some of your favorite food vendors are back and we are adding more! We are working to provide an array of food options to satisfy almost all dietary desires. Be prepared to enjoy some of the tastiest food NC and surrounding areas have to offer.
